The ILM Level 2 Award in Exploring Business Enterprise aims to provide individuals with the opportunity to explore enterprise; its purpose, functions and operations, and recognise the basic personal knowledge and skills required to work effectively and successfully within an enterprise. This concise qualification consists of two mandatory units. In the first unit, ‘Enterprise awareness’, learners identify an organisation and examine the various key aspects of this enterprise; its finances, internal and external communication methods, resources and customer focus. This allows the leaner to demonstrate their awareness of the world of enterprise. In ‘Implications of working within an enterprise’, the second mandatory unit, learners examine the skills required to work effectively in an enterprise. Here the rights and responsibilities of individuals working within an enterprise are explored along with a personal reflection on skills and career progression.
