The ILM IMQ Introductory Certificate and Certificate in Management are qualifications specifically designed for overseas candidates. They aim to give learners the wide range of skills and knowledge required by first line managers and supervisors across all employment sectors. Both qualifications are especially suited to first line managers who may still be working alongside other workplace colleagues, but have more extensive control, autonomy and authority than a team leader. They are likely to take decisions which have some implications for operational aspects and will manage day to day problems within their organisation.
The Introductory Certificate consists of three mandatory units (covering; change, problem solving and decision making) plus seven optional units. This wide choice of optional units gives a high level of flexibility, allowing the qualification to be tailored to meet the varying needs of learners and employers across all employment sectors.
The Certificate builds and broadens the skills and knowledge acquired in the Introductory Certificate. The additional mandatory and optional units required for this qualification explore in greater depth the practical techniques and skills required to be a successful line manager.
