Businesses should build upon their previous successes and act proactively to raise their confidence levels and succeed, according to Business Link.
In response to research from Lloyds TSB, which showed that business confidence fell for a second month in a row in October, John Grange, business advisor at Business Link, argued that businesses should learn from the past and talk to customers to devise innovative products and services.
He added that the best way to improve confidence levels is for businesses to learn from their mistakes and take encouragement from successes.
"When you've been in a difficult situation and you've taken some action and seen that it has benefited your business that gives you confidence [for] taking the next action," he said.
NICE, the independent organisation responsible for providing national health guidance, recently said that employers and employees can work together to improve mental wellbeing by taking a holistic approach in the workplace.
