Specialist providers of serviced apartments SilverDoor have had great success with their undergraduate placement scheme. Helen Mayson went to find out how it works
A specialist in the provision of serviced apartments in London, across the UK and worldwide, SilverDoor was founded in 2000 by Managing Director Marcus Angell and has grown to become Europe's leading independent serviced apartment agent.
They're dedicated to strengthening the ties between businesses and universities, and in 2008 they introduced a placement programme to bring bright, hard-working undergraduate students into the company for a minimum period of 12 months.
The scheme has grown rapidly, from four students in 2008 to eight students in 2012, and the students now play a vital, valued part in the company. Several former placement students have returned after completing their degrees and have thrived in their new positions, often progressing into management roles.
inspire went to find out how SilverDoor encourage placement students to take on responsibility and what they bring to the organisation.
