Level 6 Diploma in School Business Management

The Level 6 Diploma in School Business Management is designed for senior members of non-teaching staff working across small groups of schools or a single large school. These School Business Managers (SBMs) will have high-level responsibility for managing human resources, finances and facilities. The qualification develops their knowledge and skills, enabling them to work more strategically and enhance their contribution in complex settings.

  • Save up to one third of the headteacher’s time – freeing them to lead learning

  • Improve the support for teachers, increasing the leadership capacity within the school andimproving educational outcomes for students.
This qualification builds high-level skills in school management through six mandatory units covering the management of school finances and programmes, measuring school performance and understanding and transforming schools as organisations.
