Travelex 2018 ILM Level 5 Graduation
Placing people at the heart of everything they do, Travelex believe that without the best talent they cannot achieve their purpose led ambition; to largest global fintech organisation. It’s only through building and developing their employees, and recognising the role they play in supporting the business, that they can make their global strategy a reality.
Travelex designed its Accelerate programme to make a real, high impact investment in its future leaders. The year-long structured leadership development training is aimed at employees who are consistent high performers, and who show a desire and the potential to expand their leadership responsibilities in the future.
Accelerate’s inaugural year has seen 51 representatives from across multiple areas of the business, spanning over 10 countries in Travelex’s global network. The cohorts, or ”Accelerators”, cover various modules including Leading Self, with a key take away that it isn't the boss who makes you the leader, its the followers who follow you; Leading Others and culminating in Innovation, challenging the cohorts to work on an compelling new project to complete their training in style.
Described by one Accelerator as a “spectacular journey awakening my passion for what we do”, 35 of those who took part on the programme have already been promoted or moved into new roles. Not only does this underline the quality of the training in helping individuals reach their potential, but demonstrates Travelex’s commitment to validate and execute on the learning.

To celebrate the Accelerate graduates’ achievement, a gala dinner event held at the Hilton Bankside with senior Travelex leaders. Addressing the cohort, Becky James, ILM Director of Business Development, Sales and Marketing, highlighted ‘The opportunity to learn and develop your leadership and management skills is a gift that no one can ever take away from you.’
