Focus on the skills you need
This qualification is made up of two mandatory units. The first, ‘Understanding leadership’ focuses on:
• Different leadership styles and their impact on people and organisations
• The role of trust and respect in effective leadership
• Evaluating and improving your own leadership capability
The second unit, ‘Planning and leading a complex work activity’, covers:
• Techniques for planning: risk assessment, operational constraints and resource use
• Communicating clearly – including briefing techniques,
• Making smart decisions about allocating work and delegating responsibility
• Reviewing your abilities and planning to improve
